**This procedure explains how to create redirections and change the destination of specific URLs.**

## Access the redirection

To access **Redirects** menu settings, first click on **Configuration** in the main menu.

Then, go to the **search and metadata** section.

From there, click on **URL redirect**.



 

 

 



 

 

 

 





 

 

 

 






## Scenario 1 | Adding a URL redirect

A redirect is only possible if the source page is deleted or archived (to distinguish it from live content). The URL alias must be removed afterward.

Click the **Add redirect** button. A form will appear. In the **Path** field, enter the source path (without the “/” at the beginning). In the **To** field, search for or enter the destination page.

Select the redirect type: 301 (permanent) or 302 (temporary). The most commonly used is 301.

Then, choose the appropriate **language**. If you choose "all languages" the redirection will be created for all translations of this page.

Click **Save** to apply the redirect. This will automatically clear the URL alias field of the source page.

## Scenario 2 | Mass import of domain redirects

To import several domain redirects at once, start by preparing a CSV file with the appropriate structure. Find the template [here](https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1_e7mC34YQCzUVlvo7Qj_9NecEzNHOhvPOG934z7nX-E/edit?gid=2015540816#gid=2015540816).

Then, go to the back office and select the **Migrate** menu.

Click on the CSV File field to upload your file. Once the file is uploaded, select the option **Import domain redirects**.

Click **Migrate data** to launch the import process.

All the new redirects will be processed and added. You can find them in the **Domain redirects** tab.
